Top-down Brew: Late Boil Unit Conversions
Results
Notes
This calculator is to assist with dosages for late boil additions (spices, fruit) and possibly dry hopping. Standard recipes typically give a weight needed for the entire batch. What we need though is a scalable ratio for the calculator. This also handles metric - US/imperial conversions.
The math is a simple ratio. For example, if there is one ounce of a spice added to five gallons, the math is 1 ounce / 5 gallons = .2 ounces/gallon.
Both the weight and the volume must be the same unit system. Furthermore, the weight inputs must be in either ounces or grams. Mixing metric and US measurements won't work. Using pounds or kilograms requires conversion to ounces or grams, respectively.
