  • Set the mash efficiency variable to 55% for steeping.

Newcastle Brown Ale is a well-known example of a British brown ale.

The recipe recommends Witbread ale strains from Wyeast (1099) or White Labs (WLP017). Dry yeast possibilities are Mangrove Jack Empire Ale or Fermentis S-04.
